It’s Homecoming week at New Canaan High School. Ram spirit overtakes the town and students celebrate costume days from Monday through Friday, capped by a pep rally and bonfire at the end of the week.
It’s certainly a great time to be a Ram, although it does come with a possible downside for a football team attempting to prepare for the next opponent.
“In school, it’s probably the most fun week of the year,” senior co-captain Quintin O’Connell, a senior co-captain of the football team. “Everyone’s happy, you get dressed up, classes are a little lighter, and everyone’s mood is up. But for football, we’ve got to keep that focus. No one’s enjoying the Homecoming game if the Rams come out and we don’t do our jobs.”
