At a chilly Tiger Hollow, the Ridgefield High girls soccer team ended the regular season with a 6-0 rout of Fairfield Warde on Monday night.
It was the third straight 6-0 win for the Tigers, who take a 13-2-1 record into the postseason. Ridgefield is seeded third in the FCIAC playoffs and will host either Trumbull in a quarterfinal contest on Thursday.
The Tigers played well from the start of Monday’s game against visiting Warde. Ridgefield’s backline of Claire Middlebrook, Amelia Hynes, Carrina Dabroi, and Eva McKinley maintained possession, limiting Warde’s opportunities to shoot. When the defenders sent transition passes forward, the Tigers’ offense took off.
