The unbeaten St. Joseph Cadets softball team and a Staples Wreckers baseball team which has just one league loss currently own the first-place spots as the FCIAC playoff race heads into its final two weeks.
Eight teams will qualify for the two tournaments, which get underway with the quarterfinals on Friday, May 17.
