DARIEN — It’s not unusual for a boys ice hockey game between New Canaan and Darien to feature several twists and turns.
It’s also not odd for those games to end with a one-goal difference — that’s happened in four of the last six meetings with another game ending in a tie.
What made No. 6 Darien’s 3-2 win over No. 3 New Canaan on Saturday unique, at least in a recent sense, is that the rivals were at long last playing in front a capacity crowd at the Darien Ice House.
