The Brien McMahon boys soccer team took home a 2-1 win over Danbury High School on Sept. 21 on pride. This left the Senators with a 3-3-1 record.
Goals came from Senior captains Jaime Ochoa and Chino Mejia.
Eager to keep a winning streak going after beating Trumbull 2-0, McMahon boys soccer came to play Danbury ready to win.
The Senators had great connections on the field. Whether it was communication we could hear, or not. well resulting in good plays.
The first goal was scored when on the attack, drawing a penalty. Senior captain Jaime Ochoa was fouled in the box while trying to get a shot off, and he stepped up and put the ball in the back of the net, putting McMahon 1-0 up.
Ochoa said that “our goal for the second half was to just keep it simple and connect on the field”
Shortly after, the boys carried the energy on scoring another goal making it 2-0. Chino Mejia scored off of one of Ochoa’s rebound shots once the Danbury goalkeeper lost the ball. McMahon eventually did let in one goal towards the end of the game, but it didn’t shake the Senators since they were still able to take home the win.
They executed their game plan perfectly and ended up winning the game 2-1.
