NEW CANAAN—In the recent decade, the Greenwich High School girls swimming program has seen other FCIAC schools come to the forefront in this sport.
But the Cardinals captured the 2017 FCIAC Girls Swim Championship. And they seem poised to double down on the feat.
Greenwich improved to 8-0 this season Friday by posting a 110-74 triumph over New Canaan High at the New Canaan YMCA pool.
“The postseason is still a few weeks away. We’re still in the thick of training,” said Greenwich’s coach Lorrie Hokayem. “Mid-season meets are tough. But our girls put forth some solid races. They did a nice job despite fatigue (three meets plus hard practices in nine day stretch).”
