WILTON — Caitlin Slaminko scored with 2:48 left in the first overtime period to give the Ridgefield High School girls soccer team a 2-1 (2 OT) victory over St. Joseph Monday night in the FCIAC semifinals at Kristine Lilly field.
The win means Ridgefield will be in the FCIAC championship game for the third time in four years.
The Tigers will face either Darien or New Canaan in Thursday’s final at Warde High School.
“Everybody dreams about scoring an overtime goal in the FCIAC or state playoffs,” Slaminko said. “I knew I had to put one in. I’m so happy it went in.”
