DANBURY — The Danbury girls basketball team didn’t have the start it hoped for after entering the season with high expectations.
Life after a 0-3 beginning has been kind to the Hatters, though. Danbury pulled away from New Milford 57-31 on Wednesday in the News-Times Tip-Off at the War Memorial for its third straight win, each impressive in its own way. The Hatters toppled Ludlowe and rallied past Staples before blitzing the Green Wave in the second half.
Danbury, which displayed its depth against New Milford, will meet Bristol Eastern in the final of the tournament on Friday at 8 p.m. The Lancers beat New Fairfield 50-36 in the opener.
